how we got here

“Where are my people?”

This simple question WORK Lakes Region’s Founder, Jodie Gallant asked herself in 2022 sparked the resurgence of an idea she first had in 2014.

She was two years into her entrepreneurial journey then. She had just moved into her second leased office when she found herself missing the collaboration, camaraderie, and social aspects she had in her corporate days.

Popping in each other’s offices, gabbing by the watercooler, laughing over lunch, sharing family updates, idea generation, collaboration, support, COMMUNITY!

She’d heard about one national company that provides a shared workspace where people can focus on their own work, yet enjoy the benefits of the traditional office environment.  Jodie loved the idea, but there wasn’t one nearby and she continued to focus instead on growing her business.

Fast forward to 2022.  Jodie’s been working from home for two years after opting to move out of her third office lease in 2020. Working from home certainly had its benefits, but after two years of countless zoom calls and the same four walls, she thought, “okay…where are my people?”

That led to more questions…

  • What do I need to expand my service offerings?

  • What do our clients need?

  • What does the community need?

  • What exists / doesn’t exist today?

The answer was a shared coworking and event space set in New Hampshire’s beautiful Lakes Region - and so Jodie got the nudge to create WORK Lakes Region.

Jodie believes the heartbeat of our communities resides in its business owners and leaders. Through WORK Lakes Region, Jodie’s goal is to not only enhance the community she lives and works in, but to also create a conduit for other amazing partners, business owners and leaders to expand the impact and influence they have.

WORK Lakes Region provides a space, resource and opportunity to grow, lead, connect, support and create.
